Description:

The purpose of this solicitation is to obtain quotes for a Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) equipped with a Focused Ion Beam (FIB) and a Schottky Field Electron Source.

This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6 as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement, posted by the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI), on behalf of the National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering (NIBIB) constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued.
The solicitation number is 75N92018Q0251 is issued as a request for quotation (RFQ).
The solicitation/contract will incorporate all applicable provisions and clauses in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-99-1, dated 07-16-2018.
This requirement is not set-aside for small businesses. The associated NAICS code is 333314 with a small business size standard of 500 employees. This acquisition is being conducted in accordance with the procedures of FAR Part 13.5.
The National Institute on Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering (NIBIB), Laboratory of Cellular Imaging and Macromolecular Biophysics (LCIMB) requires the purchase of a scanning electron microscope (SEM) equipped with a focused ion beam (FIB) source, and a Schottky field-emission electron source for the collection of three-dimensional images of cells and tissues with the purpose of revealing high-resolution ultrastructure of organelles on a nanometer scale.
