The Royal Netherlands Army and Navy needs 12-20 Remotely Operated Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (ROV-AUV's) 

The Army has three units that are tasked for underwater operations and they have different diving capacity. The divers are trained to operate in all scenario's (Combat, Security, Peace Support Operations (PSO) and Peace Time Military Engagement (PME)).  Some tasks:

• Deliberate Water Crossing (DWC) 
• Bottom and shore reconnaissance
• Underwater demolition
• Counter-sabotage
• Uderwater infrastructures or salvage.

The use of underwater Remotely Operated and Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (ROV-AUV) creates the opportunity to improve safety and increase dive operations capacity. It also add to create underwater situational awareness.
