Description:

Sanquin Blood Supply Foundation, hereinafter referred to as 'Sanquin', has decided to organise a European procurement procedure (hereafter: "tender") for the supply of X-Ray irradiators.
 
Reason for tender
To prevent the transfusion-associated Graft versus Host Disease, blood products are irradiated with a radioactive source. Sanquin's issuing departments irradiate the blood products on request of the hospital. Sanquin currently has an irradiation device at seven (7) issuing departments. All these devices make use of gamma irradiation.

The oldest irradiation device is 31 years old. Replacement is therefore necessary. Not only because of age, but also because of the long irradiation time required.

Scope
Key aspects of the desired X-Ray irradiators:

• fully comply with the User Requirement Specifications (URS) and all applicable legislation;
• shorter irradiation time for the blood products;
• possibility to irradiate at least three (different) blood products;
• possibility to connect with the eProgresa system;
• user friendly solution with easy to use user interface;
• supplying user- and technical documentation (preferably also in Dutch);
• support in training, preventive and corrective maintenance.
