171219 Market Investigation - BorWin 6 HVDC Cable System

Announcement of a market investigation on the planned procurement of the "BorWin 6 HVDC Cable System".
 
The awarding authority TenneT Offshore GmbH hereby invites all potential and interested market participants to express their interest in the planned market investigation for the "BorWin 6 HVDC Cable System" and to provide an overview of the current status of the planning documents. This market investigation is part of a possible, subsequent procurement project.
 
BorWin6 is the sixth offshore grid connection of TenneT off the coast of Borkum. BorWin6 has a transmission capacity of 930 megawatts and will connect an offshore wind farm in cluster 7, zone 2.  The project comprises an HVDC system including one offshore and one onshore converter. The onshore station will be located in Büttel. The commissioning of BorWin6 is planned in 2027. 
 
With a call for expressions of interest and submitted NDA (Non-Disclosure Agreement), further information on the planned project will be made available for download to all interested companies.

Participants should provide a feedback in regards to their available capacity as well as their preliminary interest for participating in the upcoming tender - without any obligation to participate.
 
Participants in this market investigation will not receive any competitive advantages and, in the spirit of equal treatment and transparency, all companies will have equal opportunities to participate in the procedure after the public announcement.
