For Schiphol, On Time Performance (OTP) is one of its most important KPIs in order to be one of the top performing Airports in Europe. An efficient turnaround process is an important factor of this On Time Performance. Therefore, Schiphol has been developing a new product over the last few years: the Deep Turnaround solution that can provide end-to-end insights in the turnaround process. Turnaround processes are recorded by fixed cameras on the ramps and the images are uploaded to a cloud environment. Deep learning algorithms analyse the images and detect the different process steps, events and at which time these are happening (timestamps). This data is used as input for a variety of systems, dashboards and APIs and shared with multiple stakeholders. With this data we can optimize the turnaround process and create for example alerts or make predictions.
At the moment, Schiphol has this Deep Turnaround product live in production at a selection of its piers and the insights are being integrated in dashboards the Schiphol Digital twin Wilbur and the CDM portal. As a next step, Schiphol is looking for a partner who has a similar Deep Turnaround product, with whom we can pursue the following ambitions: further development and roll-out of (a combination of) the product(s) at Schiphol, scale to Schiphol Group airports with a (joint) product team and commercializing beyond the Schiphol Group. Schiphol already has a fairly mature product itself and wants to accelerate its roadmap while keeping the existing product live in operation. Next to that, we have already made investments in both cameras on the piers and in development of the models and we do not want to write off this investment. Therefore, Schiphol is looking for a partner with a similar product that can at least meet the all of the following requirements: - Proven technology/ track record: in order to guarantee a rapid further development of the product at Schiphol, the candidate must be able to demonstrate that it has a comparable solution for the turnaround process (consisting of at least hardware/ cameras, AI model infrastructure and semantic layer) live in deployment at multiple airports and is able to provide a reference for this; - Technical capabilities and solid experience (1) to collaborate on further development of the model infrastructure and upper part of the tech stack at Schiphol (this includes model infrastructure, semantic layer, processing, API and dashboarding) and (2) to implement the entire solution at potential customers (hardware, model infrastructure, semantic layer, processing, API and dashboarding); - Network for commercialisation/ sales & marketing capabilities: the candidate must have proven experience in selling a similar solution (including hardware, model infrastructure and semantic layer). The candidate must be able to demonstrate that it has an existing sales & marketing organisation and network that is used for rolling out a similar product at multiple airports; - Established maintenance & support organization: in the context of the rapid scaling-up to other airports, a candidate must be able to demonstrate that it has an existing maintenance & support organisation for a similar product. A candidate must be able to provide evidence of this, for example in terms of number of FTEs in support organisation, existing SLAs for current customers, existing pricing model for various services). - Ability to start the collaboration in Q4 2021.
