Announcement of a market investigation on the planned innovation procurement procedure on Offshore Subsea Transformers.

TenneT is currently exploring modular and scalable offshore subsea technologies as potential next innovative step to simplify large scale offshore wind grid connection systems and enabling further technical options for the offshore grid topology. As a first of a series of relevant innovation steps, a subsea power transformer shall be developed with the goal to have a full-scale prototype ready until 2028.

We are seeking a development (and construction) agreement with potential suppliers, leveraging innovation procurement procedures. We expect to enter into such innovation procurement procedure later this year or early 2023.
You will find relevant information on goals and technical specifications in the presentation attached in section 1.

The awarding authority TenneT Offshore GmbH hereby invites all potential and interested market participants to express their interest in the planned procurement procedure regarding Offshore Subsea Transformer. This market investigation is part of a possible, subsequent procurement project.

Participation is only open for applications who have experience in the field of subsea electrification technology.

Participants should provide feedback regarding their view on the technological innovation and express their interest for participating in the upcoming procurement procedures - without any obligation to participate.
